Little Fledgings

Co-op Village Program
2yrs-5yrs

The Little Fledglings Co-op Village Program is a parent-participatory, village-based early childhood experience designed for children ages 2–5 and the adults who walk beside them.

Rooted in a Waldorf-inspired environment, this program honors rhythm, imitation, seasonal living, storytelling, handwork, and the protection of early childhood wonder. Our spaces are intentionally simple, warm, and sensory-rich—encouraging imagination, embodiment, and reverence for the natural world.

This is not a drop-off program.

It is a living, breathing village.

Here, parents begin by fully participating. As relationships deepen and trust forms, parents naturally rotate in and out of roles, supported by the rhythm of community. The intention is simple yet profound: to allow both children and parents to experience what it truly means to raise a child in a village.

These early years are about embodiment and emotional development. They are about movement, imitation, belonging, and relational safety.

In Village Theory, we understand that children are shaped not only by instruction, but by:

  • The Inner World (nervous system, emotional field, attachment patterns)

  • The Environmental Field (the land, the adults, the rhythm of the day)

  • The Learning Cycle (observe → imitate → embody → create)

Little Fledglings intentionally holds space nourish all three.

Our day unfolds in a steady, grounding rhythm that supports embodiment, emotional development, and belonging.

We begin together in shared stewardship: harvesting, tending animals, and preparing lunch. Both the Little Fledglings Co-op (ages 2–5) and the 6–12-year-old Land & Folk Arts group participate, with younger children learning through imitation and meaningful contributions.

As the morning continues, the Co-op gathers for circle, seasonal songs, storytelling, and projects within a Waldorf-inspired environment. Just as the older children develop Folk Arts skills, the Co-op families also learn these practical crafts in developmentally appropriate ways, with parents and children growing side by side.

We come back together for a community lunch and close the day with completion, cleaning, open exploration, and a closing circle. The rhythm reinforces contribution, connection, and a lived experience of village life.

Spring & Fall Progarms

Our Spring Session serves as an introduction to the Little Fedglings Co-op and the wider Learning Center community. It is an opportunity for families to experience the rhythm of village life, understand our shared values, and discern if this pathway feels aligned.

Beginning in the Fall, Little Fledglings transitions into a private membership-based community. Families who have participated in the Spring session receive priority consideration as we move into our more deeply committed, relational village structure.

Bi-weekly parenting conversations

Special guest teachings

Monthly newsletters

Q&A discussions

Event updates

Community-Based Research participation and updates
